Understanding Parkinson’s Disease: The role of the Non-Profit Organization

What is Parkinson’s Disease?

Parkinson’s Disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder affecting movement, speech, and other motor functions. This is due to a lack of dopamine producing cells in the substantia nigra in the mid brain region. Without proper dopamine production the brain struggles to send coordinated signals throughout the body. Symptoms commonly include tremors, stiffness, and difficulty with balance. Over time, these symptoms can become debilitating, impacting daily life of those affected.

Our non profits mission:

Our non-profit aims to provide a stable community surrounding those who are directly and indirectly affected by Parkinson’s. Our contributions will be used to fund events, research, and spreading awareness about Parkinson’s. We plan to work alongside other organizations such as the Parkinson’s Foundation and the Micheal J. Fox foundation. We are located in the Central and North-West Arkansas region with hopes of branching out.

How you can help:

In our progress for Parkinson’s you are able to help in several meaningful ways. Donations directly support events, research, and growing our organization. Volunteering your time helps organize these events and makes our community more meaningful. You can also spread awareness by sharing information about Parkinson’s with friends, family, or through social media. Lastly, we encourage you to share our website with anyone who you feel would be willing to fight against Parkinson’s.
